International Puppet Festival

The 9th International Puppet Festival Ireland will be hosted by Lambert Puppet Theatre. Czech Republic will be represented by two theatres:

• Black Light Theatre Frantisek Kratochvil performing "Miss Sony" from 14th-17th September, at the Pavilion Thatre Dun Loaghaire.

  Frantisek Kratochvil, a man of many talents and professions - sculptor, painter and graphic artist, actor, film director and clown - is best known for his theatre work. He has enriched the Czech theatre by bringing painting on the stage. He uses this unique form of expression (patent No. 186624) to tel stories from his life, to talk about his observations and opinions, and to make people think. Literally thousands of of theatre lovers enjoyed his shows at the Painted Theatre. This time he ponders the creeping force of television, which is capable of seizing an individual to the extent where he can no longer actively enjoy his own life. The author encourages everybody to live a real and dynamic life. He does it by a unique presentation, creative and funny, with slight erotic overtones. Come to the Painted Theatre to laugh, to be entertained and even think a little!
