Traditional International Food Festival in Greystones will present various cuisine from many countries of the world. Czech and Slovak cuisine will be presented by our society with strong support of both Czech and Slovak embassies.
All food and drink will be available for tasting, for very little donation charge towards the cost. Recipes for all the traditional meals offered at the event will be available to all our guests together with the information on the countries of their origin.
Quality of all the food presented to you will be under close supervision of society's cook general HE. Mr. President - Bill Prasifka. That will surely ensure the highest quality standard and enjoyment. Traditional Czech drink (beer of course) sponsored by Czech Embassy in co-operation with Budejovicky Budvar on tap (also known as Budweiser Budvar) will be the real crown of the Czech cuisine. Slovak cuisine on the other hand will be offering the jewels of the southern Slovak wine yards kindly sponsored by Slovak Embassy.
Please join us at this feast (one could say fest) and experience the best of the Czech and Slovak cuisine for yourself. You can perhaps try to cook some of the meals yourself using our recipes.
The festival will be held in Greystone's parish hall. Here is a map with marked location of the festival. Higher resolution picture for printing is here.
Everybody is welcome.
The story of the fair
For the people preparing the food the Food Fair started really a few days ahead. As all of you must agree with me (those who are not sure about themselves please contact me for help), that all the food on the table was delicious. It was such a delight to see and be able to taste a bit of the traditional Czech and Slovak food.
Anyway, to cut the story short. A lots of people from both embassies did great job on the food. We were the first, and the only stall at the fair, which was completely eaten out. It is necessary to say, that it was not because of small quantity of food. The event was big success.
Thank you very much to all of you who came to support us. Thank you very much to all the people who helped with the event. Some of them are named bellow. And finally, thank you to the organizers and to Greystone's Parish for hosting the event.
Enjoy the pictures,
Tomas
